Let the South Island Travels begin!
So last Wednesday my friends Hillary, Lauren and I packed our stuff and boarded the ferry from Wellington to Picton (the top of the South Island). Upon arrival, we checked into our hostel (which provided HOMEMADE Apple Crisp-nom.) and got dinner. The next day we woke up, got breakfast from the local bakery (that came highly recommended from Brenda!) and picked up our rental car. "Agnes" we came to call her was a goldish/tan Nissan or 'the little 4-door that could...' as I liked to think of her as. We had a 6 1/2 ish hour drive down the West Coast of the South Island from Picton to Franz Josef. With a few stops along the way (like the infamous Pancake Rocks and beaches) we had a grand ol' time that involved good tunes, fresh air and more windy NZ highway. I will let the pictures do most of the talking for this blog post, but I highly encourage you to listen to the song (that I posted at the top of this blog) while you look at the pictures.
