Culture Day pt. 2

After touring the Auckland museum, we went to one of the local beaches where we walked around, took pictures and had the option of swimming under a waterfall or flax weaving.. I decided to sit near the waterfall and weave so I could get the best of both worlds!! It was so therapeutic and as we were weaving, Stacy who was one of our tour guides was telling us the story of creation seen through the Maori culture. It was quite interesting to hear another perspective and to learn more about these people.
The beaches here are amazing..

Waterfall!!
I made that!

It still is hard to believe that I am in this amazing country participating in these incredible opportunities.

After spending time at the beach and by the waterfall, it was time to get home and shower to get ready for our last night together with all of the TEAN people! It is so sad to think that after this night, we were all going in our separate directions. We had spent time at the airport together, went through troubles with our luggage together, spent 5 days in Fiji, and 4 days in Auckland together. And now that was all changing. We were like our own little family who went on this journey together.
Patience, Gaby and I at our last toast!

Although sad, we were all excited for each other to start our adventures.. we had one last toast to each other and then off it was to our new destinations!! The Auckland students were moving into their dorms the next day as were the Christchurch people! Us wellington folk, however had one last day in Auckland to roam...
